He's an absolutely amazing improv bassist with an impeccable sense of swing and was one of the first improv musicians i got into. What's awesome, if you're into him or Brotzmann, is that you can practically trace the history/future of free jazz by who they've played with and who they're currently playing with. when i first got into those two, i just started looking for releases that they played with, and when i liked the other players on the album, i looked for their releases. and pretty soon was spending way too much on cds and music. -cb the other musician would definitely have to be William Parker.
