From All Girl Summer Fun Band : K Records : KLP 130

So, in my little corner of the world, summer is winding down. We’ve had what’s supposed to be the last of the hot weather and it’s going to be cooling down. I’m a cold weather person though, so I’m excited for the fall and the winter. But I can kind of understand that most other people don’t like the cold. So, for all those who live in (what will be) cold climes, I’ve decided to post some songs by the All Girl Summer Fun Band, to remind you of warmer times.
Like their name says, this band is totally fun and it’s all girl. They play an infectious brand of pop-punk with songs about crushes, break ups and relationships. This is a group of four totally cute ladies who come from Portland, OR and have been mixing it up in the indie scene for a long time. Do not, however, let their looks fool you, because these gals can rock out something fierce.

Have I mentioned that I completely hate Apple and their software programs. Well ok, hate might be a strong word, but I guess I can say that I strongly dislike their programs. I’ve been using iTunes (which is a horrible program for Windows machines) because it was the only program that would recognize audiobook bookmarks, but since I’m not really listening to audiobooks anymore, there’s really no point in using iTunes. So, just for shits and giggles I decided to upgrade to iTunes 5 and got a nasty, virus-like surprise. I usually have my mp3’s open in Winamp. I like it that way. I like to have that choice. Unfortunately Apple, in their infinite wisdom have decided that I need to have my mp3’s open in Quicktime. And no amount of changing preferences or settings can change that. Did I mention that I hate Apple?!?!

Hey! I’m on my 4th Mac and I know they can be frustrating. You have a PC and your iTunes is preferring to launch Quicktime? If it were me, I’d disable the Quicktime by way of the trash can or recycle bin first. Try to open an MP3 with Quicktime in the trash (don’t empty you trash) and see if it asks you to find an application to play your MP3. Also, see if you have the latest version of Winamp. Updating Winamp may override the Quickness. your Pal, Paul
