[Note: This is the third (i.e. last) in a three part series on the phenomenon that is the Acid Mothers Temple “Soul Collective"]

So far in our acid journey, I’ve posted tracks from “gentler” side of the “Soul Collective”. This is mostly because whenever I reach for an Acid Mothers disc, this is usually what I listen to. I’m a total sucker for the acid/free folk genre. But the “Soul Collective” is so much more than that. And every once in a while, I like to totally rock out with the devil horns in the air. So here’re some tracks from that side of the collective.
The first two tracks that I’ve posted come from the same compiliation/overview that the last post used, Earworm Records wonderful release “Do Whatever You Want, Don’t Do Whatever You Don’t Want!!”. If you can’t tell already, this is probably my favorite release of theirs because it showcasese so many different styles and groups. And it’s got some great liner notes and an incredible visual spread of the wild cover art from past releases.
Cosmic Riders: Cosmic Riders is a punk rock band who number the original AMT drummer Koizumi Hajime amongst its members. The group consists of people who were involved with the AMT Soul Collctive from the very start - peerless fuzz bassist Iida Tomoharu, late-blooming punk rocker Sasuke, and monster-collector Yamanishi Hiroto.
The Wild Riders: The Wild Riders is a band led by the biker “Wild Rider” Shiva, who’s been active on the underground scene for almost thirty years. We are determined to lend him our help, so that he can release his first album to celebrate thirty years of free biking and free living.
(from the liner notes)
This third track I’ve posted is one of the numerous limited cd-r releases that the AMT label puts out. It’s a shame that so many of their cd-r releases were limited to an edition of 50 to 100 because there’s some incredible music on that label that only a very few got to hear. Nishinihon is a trio that includes Kawabata Makoto and Tsuyama Atsushi along with drummer Ichiraku, who I know very little about. But I do know that this is one hellof-a rip snortin’ track.
So, hope you’ve enjoyed this little overview of the “Soul Collective”. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to post all that I wanted to, especially their longer tracks, which range from thirty to sixty minutes. This is really too bad because those are some of my favorite tracks. In fact there’s a 4cd release of theirs that I’ve been meaning to check out that has just 4 tracks. One for each cd. Ah, now that would be aural bliss.
At any rate. When you’ve downloaded these tracks, make sure to let down your hair, raise those devils horns, crank the stereo to 11 and be prepared to rock out.

You’re right when you call the Nishinon track a rip snorter. Love the pointless soloing and ultra-aggressive feedback that slowly drones out the rhythm guitarist for a little while. It may just be my computer speakers but I can’t even hear the drums at one point! Makes me want to break out Tago Mago again. Great stuff.
